The location of Robert Carlyle's escape by boat from the cottage at the beginning of the film. I was heading past here towards London by boat when I saw two labourers building the landing stage seen in the film, but when I returned several weeks later, the landing stage was nowhere to be seen - it wasn't until I saw the film that the mystery was resolved. The cottage from which Carlyle's character escapes is in reality Stokers Farm, roughly 200 metres to the east - a popular location for TV and film.
