World War II Aircraft - B-25 Mitchell Bomber
Someone with more skills than I might want to collect, assemble and otherwise meld all of the B-17's, P-38's etc. that we've posted before into a single place.

Here's Milwaukee's static B-25 at the entrance to Billy Mitchell's own airport.

My family has a special connection with the B-25, as do, I'm sure, many families of WWII vets.Excerpt of Congressional RecordThe pilot of the B-25 in that tale, the "Miss Bobbie", is a relative of mine.

Happy viewing.

Edit: pesky photo page didn't enjoy deep linking!

"It's time to matter."Speaking of B-25s, here at Eagle Field Doolittle's Raiders practiced for their carrier take-off to bomb Japan in 1942.
The few remaining flying Mitchell's come here for their annual fund-raiser.

Here are the B-25s on the deck of the USS Hornet before their mission.
I was working on a "US Airpower" kml folder that is just about complete. But, have been having PC issues on this end lately. Can only surf with IE now, and it only loads one site at a time. And KH download speed is crawling, takes forever for a view to focus.
Anywho, enough whining for now. Here's the best image of a B-25J that I've found so far. On static display at Maxwell AFB in wonderful 1 foot res Montgomery, Alabama.

"And sometimes is seen a strange spot in the sky A human being that was given to fly"....Eddie VedderThat's a beauty, Stewy. Look forward to the jumbo KML. Good luck with the PC!
