Clic Aquí.Hi Gerardo

)
Many of you could have asked Why some people here has those Titles, like "World Explorer" or "Master" whatever?
Well, those people has been highlighted due to their work here. Many of them as "Moderators", which means working for free trying to keep the Forum OK, without heavy discussions, etc..
Others because they give help to new users or technical work for the Forum or for Google.
Others because of the creativity, relevancy, innovation or simple popularity of their work.
Here I´ve made a list withallthe World Explorers and Masters that, today (23rd January 2008) are registered as users.
I "took" them to and island of Australia -a kind of "virtual meeting"and make some statistical graphics to show what we´ve done, in some way...
For that purpose I went to theEntrancepage of the Forum and then clic theProfile Indexlink. There I checked the Title option and searched for "World Explorer" and then for "Master" to get both lists.
If you want to acces to that data faster, here you can download the xls files I´ve worked with:
GEC Masters XLSand
GEC World Explorers XLS
So I orderer the users considering first the quantity of postswith attached files only(here we are missing the bunch of posts and replies giving help, for example).
Then I used the Views and calculated the average of views per post.
Finnaly, I´ve "created" a Number considering the #of posts and views per post.
and I encourage all of you people, to search the work of that "entitled" users to see differents ways to show information, interesting things, etc.
EDIT: Why only "World Explorers" and "Masters"? To be honest...
I forgot there were also "Explorers", "Cartographers", "Guides", "Collection Editors" and "Sysops"....Sorry.....

Edited by Gerardo64 (01/23/08 09:31 AM)That is just cool!
Now I know who to ask how to do something when I have really challenging KML overlay questions.
Seriously, there are a few tricks in that overlay that I need to "reverse engineer" so that I understand how to do them myself.
